Make your travel journey stress-free from the moment you depart from the ship! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the views out of your single-level dome train car along a 127-mile, approximately 4.5-hour journey along the southern route from the Seward Cruise Terminal to the Anchorage International Airport. This train transfer is recommended for guests with confirmed flights from the Anchorage International Airport departing after 2:00pm and no later than 5:00pm, renting a car or staying at an airport hotel following their cruise. Settle into your assigned seat for the smooth 127-mile train ride largely considered, even among local Alaska residents, as one of the most scenic experiences aboard the Alaska Railroad, alongside the famous interior route between Anchorage and Denali. You’ll roll through a pass in the Kenai Mountains, across flowing rivers, past Spencer and Bartlett Glaciers and various waterfalls, and through valleys within remote Alaska forest. As you approach Anchorage, the train winds along Turnagain Arm, where the steep mountains of the Chugach Range plunge directly into sea. Keep your eyes peeled, there is always an opportunity to spot wildlife throughout! The domed walls of your train car ensure you won't miss a second of the visual feast, and booth seating with tables in between offer a comfortable experience. Your large luggage will meet you upon arrival at Anchorage airport, ready for the rest of your onward journey!
