Joia Travel Terms and Conditions

Updated on: Mar 8, 2024

The following Terms and Conditions (herein "Terms") apply to your use of all products and/or services provided by Joia Travel, operating under DoCarmo Consulting, LLC (herein, "we," "Joia Travel," and/or "organization"). That is, when you inquire about quotes, purchase travel/services, or view Joia Travel's online materials you acknowledge and agree to these terms of service.

If you do not agree with the Terms, please discontinue use of Joia Travel's services, work product and/or property. These Terms provide for the use of arbitration on an individual basis to resolve disputes rather than jury trials or class actions. Thus, by accepting these Terms you waive the right to class action.

These terms may change over time. If we make minor changes to the Terms without materially changing your rights, we will post the modified Terms to this site. We will notify you by email, through the Term service, or by presenting you with a new Terms of Service to accept if we make a modification that materially changes your rights. When you use our services after a modification is posted, you are telling us that you accept the modified terms.

----------

  • Joia Travel takes privacy seriously. We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information when you elect to purchase products or services. We do not sell, rent or lease customer lists to third parties. We only share required personal information to travel suppliers during purchase of their direct travel services.
  • Joia Travel offers retail travel services that are provided by separate and independent vendors and suppliers. The organization does not operate, control, or otherwise provide such travel services directly. Hence, you acknowledge and understand that Joia Travel acts only as an agent for acquiring transportation, hotel accommodations, sightseeing, and other privileges or services for the customer's benefit.
  • Though Joia Travel is willing to assist with travel disruptions should they occur, the organization is not responsible for flight delays, flight cancellations, weather emergencies and/or other travel interruptions during your trip. Protection may be purchased at your discretion through travel insurance, but is not the responsibility of the organization.
  • Upon purchasing travel, you accept Joia Travel's services on the express condition that the organization shall not be responsible for any loss, accident, injury, delay, defect, omission or irregularity which may occur or be occasioned, whether by reason of any act, negligence or default of any company or person engaged in or responsible for carrying out these services.
  • You accept and acknowledge that Joia Travel is compensated for services via commission (paid to the organization by the travel supplier) and service fees (paid to the organization by the customer). Service fees paid to the organization are for the organization's time and are therefore non-refundable, even when travel plans are canceled. Customized itineraries that require significant time for coordination and planning require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of consultation.
  • When paying fees and/or purchasing services, you accept and understand that the organization will reserve and/or book your travel using your credit card (inc. Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express). Cash and check are not accepted. Prior to making any purchase on your behalf, the organization will send you an invoice and credit card authorization form to sign, authorizing payment for a specific and stated amount. Depending on your travel itinerary, the total cost of my trip may not be charged in a lump sum and may show as separate charges on your bank/credit card bill.
  • If you do not pay in full at the time of booking, you accept that all additional payments must be received by the due date(s) shown on the final travel itinerary to avoid vendor penalties, fees and/or cancellation. You accept that you alone are responsible for keeping track of these dates and ensuring payments are made on time.
  • You acknowledge that there is some risk involved in travel, travel activities and/or travel excursions. Fares and vacation packages offered by Joia Travel often involve restrictions. You accept that changing aspects of purchased travel arrangements may result in the payment of fees or penalties, according to the cancellation policy followed by travel suppliers providing services purchased.
  • Once travel is purchased, you are solely responsible for contacting travel providers/suppliers to arrange for refunds or to reschedule if needed, and that availability for itinerary changes or cancellations are based on the fare or coverage purchased.
  • Joia Travel is not responsible for omissions or errors in users' itinerary or travel documents if not brought to their attention immediately before/after booking, prior to travel supplier deadlines or at least 30 days prior to travel (whichever comes first).
  • You accept that customers are solely responsible to ensure they have all the proper travel documents required for travel. You accept and understand that U.S. citizens traveling to any destination outside of the United States will be required to present a valid U.S. passport. Passports must be valid for 3-6 months past the return date, based on country requirements.
  • Some countries require a visa for transit or entry. Customers accept that all names on travel reservations (including but not limited to air tickets, hotel reservations, insurance and activities) must match each traveler's documents, official photo I.D. and passport (if traveling internationally). The organization is not responsible for securing visas or identification documents, nor is it responsible for inaccuracies on travel documents.
  • You understand that when children travel with only one parent or someone who is not their parent/legal guardian, foreign border officials may require custody documents or written consent from both parents or legal guardians authorizing travel. You acknowledge that requirements on this vary by country and you are solely responsible for reviewing this information for the country(ies) in your itinerary.
