Be advised: Your cancellation and change penalties are sometimes determined by the rate type in which you choose to book. If you are unsure, please ask for details as to what penalties or charges you may face for changes and/or cancellation at any time after you have paid your deposit.
In the unfortunate event a participant must cancel travel, written notice must be provided to AmaWaterways during standard business hours or by email to Res@amawaterways.com
and must clearly include each guest’s name, ship name, start and end dates of travel services, and a brief reason for cancellation, as other forms of notice are not sufficient. Cancellation penalties are based on the date AmaWaterways receives the notice, and any discrepancy between funds paid and applicable penalties is the sole responsibility of the guest or booking agent. Cancellations received within 24 hours of the vacation start date are considered a trip interruption, cannot be cancelled, and are 100 percent non-refundable. The effective cancellation date is the date AmaWaterways receives the notice. Changes to sailing dates, guest names, participant substitutions, reductions in the number of guests in a stateroom, or changes to a lower stateroom category within 90 days of departure are all treated as cancellations and subject to applicable charges, including single supplement fees where applicable. Cancellation charges for charter and part-charter bookings follow the applicable charter contract, while all other cancellation charges are assessed per person based on the cancellation date. You acknowledge that cancellations create difficulty in reselling the reservation and that the stated cancellation fees apply regardless of resale and represent fair and reasonable liquidated damages. Additional penalties may apply for special programs, Cruise Protection Plan and Travel Waiver Plus premiums are non-refundable once purchased, and airline cancellation penalties may apply once airfare is paid in full or ticketed, with certain international and regional flights being fully non-refundable at time of purchase. Except as otherwise stated in the Passenger Ticket Contract, once travel begins there are no refunds for unused services or any unused portion of cruise, land packages, or airfare.
