About the Norwegian Encore
The Norwegian Encore is one of Norwegian Cruise Line's Breakaway Plus-class ships and is an excellent choice for experiencing Alaska. Its combination of indoor and outdoor observation areas gives guests plenty of opportunities to enjoy Alaska's mountains, glaciers, waterways, and wildlife throughout the voyage.
One of the ship's standout features for Alaska is the Observation Lounge, with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic views while staying warm and comfortable indoors. The ship also offers The Waterfront, an outdoor promenade that brings guests closer to the scenery.
Beyond the views, Norwegian Encore offers a wide variety of restaurants, bars and lounges, entertainment venues, pools and hot tubs, a spa and fitness center, and activities for guests of different ages.
This is a particularly appealing Alaska itinerary because it includes Glacier Bay National Park, one of Alaska's most spectacular scenic cruising destinations.
Ports of Call
Roundtrip from Seattle, Washington
Day 1 – Seattle, Washington | Embarkation
Your Alaska adventure begins in Seattle. Board the Norwegian Encore, settle into your Balcony Stateroom, explore the ship, and get ready for an incredible week in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
Day 2 – At Sea
Enjoy a full day aboard Norwegian Encore as you make your way north toward Alaska.
This is a perfect opportunity to explore the ship, enjoy your included dining and beverage benefits, visit the Observation Lounge, or simply relax on your private balcony as the scenery begins to change.
Day 3 – Juneau, Alaska
Welcome to Alaska's capital city. Surrounded by mountains, waterways, and glaciers, Juneau offers some of the most popular experiences of any Alaska cruise port.
Consider visiting Mendenhall Glacier, taking the Mount Roberts Tramway, embarking on a whale-watching excursion in Auke Bay, or heading into the surrounding wilderness for an authentic Alaska adventure.
Day 4 – Skagway, Alaska
Step into Alaska's Gold Rush history in the charming town of Skagway.
One of the area's signature experiences is the White Pass & Yukon Route Railway, which climbs through spectacular mountain scenery along the historic route traveled by prospectors during the Klondike Gold Rush.
You can also explore the historic downtown, visit the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, or venture into the surrounding mountains.
Day 5 – Glacier Bay National Park | Scenic Cruising
This is one of the highlights of the entire cruise.
Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most sought-after destinations on an Alaska cruise itinerary.
Rather than simply visiting a port, you'll spend the day cruising through an extraordinary protected wilderness filled with towering mountains, pristine waterways, massive glaciers, and opportunities to spot Alaska wildlife.
Park Rangers typically join ships permitted to enter Glacier Bay to provide narration and information about the glaciers, wildlife, geology, and history of this remarkable region.
With a private balcony plus Norwegian Encore's Observation Lounge and outdoor viewing areas, you'll have several excellent vantage points from which to experience Glacier Bay.
Day 6 – Ketchikan, Alaska
Known as the "Salmon Capital of the World," Ketchikan combines Native Alaskan culture, colorful history, rainforest scenery, and outdoor adventure.
Explore historic Creek Street, discover the area's impressive collection of Native Alaskan totem poles, venture into the Tongass National Forest, or experience the spectacular scenery of Misty Fjords National Monument.
Day 7 – Victoria, British Columbia
Your final port is beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, known for its historic architecture, waterfront setting, gardens, and distinctly British character.
Depending on your time in port, options may include exploring the picturesque Inner Harbour, seeing the illuminated Parliament Buildings, or visiting the famous Butchart Gardens.
Day 8 – Seattle, Washington | Disembarkation
Return to Seattle after seven nights aboard Norwegian Encore.
Enjoy breakfast onboard before disembarking and heading home with memories of glaciers, mountains, wildlife, historic Alaska towns, and an unforgettable journey through the Last Frontier.
