The Waves of Change Mahjong cruise is less about competition and more about creating an environment where people bond over shared tables, shared stories, and shared purpose—while raising meaningful support for Love N People’s mission on a memorable, inclusive environment where everyone — from first-timers to lifelong players — can enjoy the rhythm and beauty of Mahjong at sea.

During the scheduled days at sea, a casual all day open Mahjong mixer to include refresher beginner-friendly lessons along with strategy sessions.

A portion of proceeds from cabin bookings would support Love N People programs, turning each reservation into a contribution toward community initiatives.

    Not all Mahjong onboard is competitive — in fact, some of the best memories come from the relaxed, chatty, laughter-filled tables. Social Games are ideal for newcomers, casual players, or anyone who just wants to unwind between shore excursions.

    Social play follows a simplified, easygoing structure:

    • Flexible Seating:
      Players can join or leave games throughout the day.
    • Modified Timing:
      Rounds are not strictly timed, allowing for a gentler, more conversational style of play.
    • House Rules Welcome.:
      While basic American Mahjong rules are followed, groups may agree on small variations for comfort and fun.
    • Guided Learning:
      Beginners are welcome — our hosts and instructor happily provide tips, explanations, and supportive coaching.
    • Community-Centred:
      The focus is on connection, shared experiences, and creating friendships that often last beyond the cruise.
    • Scoring: Everyone will be able to score points for gift to be redeemed at the last Mahjong game night. Scoring rules will be reveled onboard.
