Accompanied by your local guide, explore the historic quarter of this world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin your day with a visit to the crown jewel of Santiago de Compostela, located at the end of the historic 500-mile Camino de Santiago: its Cathedral, known as the burial site of James the Apostle, who was one of 12 apostles chosen by Jesus Christ. The cathedral is the largest Romanesque church in Spain and one of the largest in Europe. During your tour you will see the impressive archways of its central nave, beautifully carved statues and the gilded main altar lined with cherubs. You will also see such popular landmarks as the bustling Food Market, a true feast for the senses filled with fresh local produce and Galician specialties.
