Often called the “heel of the boot” of Italy, Puglia is one of the country’s most fascinating regions, known for whitewashed hill towns, breathtaking coastline, handmade pasta traditions, olive groves, incredible wine, and authentic Italian culture that still feels wonderfully local.
This affordable small-group experience begins in Bari before settling into the charming hilltop town of Martina Franca for six nights, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the region instead of constantly changing hotels. From there, we’ll explore some of Puglia’s most iconic destinations including Alberobello with its famous trulli homes, the stunning baroque city of Lecce, Ostuni’s whitewashed streets, and the historic old towns scattered throughout the countryside.
And this tour is absolutely built for food lovers.
Throughout the journey, we’ll experience the flavors that make Puglia unforgettable: fresh orecchiette pasta, local cheeses, olive oil tastings, Primitivo wine, capocollo cured meats, seafood, pastries, and even a hands-on cooking class where we’ll learn traditional Apulian recipes.
One of the things I love most about this itinerary is the balance between guided experiences and free time to truly soak in the atmosphere of southern Italy. Wander through quiet piazzas, sip wine at outdoor cafés, shop local artisan boutiques, or simply enjoy the slower rhythm of life that makes this region so special.
