    Year round options

The best times to visit Cape May, New Jersey, are late spring (mid-May to early June) and early fall (September to mid-October). These shoulder seasons offer mild weather (50s–70s°F), ideal for strolling the Victorian Historic District, relaxing on the beach, or biking the flat boardwalk. Spring brings blooming gardens and events like the Cape May Spring Festival, while fall offers vibrant foliage and the Cape May Wine & Food Festival, with fewer crowds than summer. Summer (July–August) is warm (70s–80s°F) and lively with beachgoers, but it’s crowded and pricier. Winter (December–February) is cooler (30s–50s°F) with festive charm, including holiday house tours and the Christmas in Cape May events, perfect for senior-friendly indoor activities like museum visits, though some outdoor attractions may close. Early December is great for holiday lights and milder temps.
