Program Overview
Mar 30 - Apr 2, 2026
The NYWGF is proud to provide, in partnership with Sojourn Travel Advisors, an opportunity for NY grape growers to visit a viticulture region similar to New York, meet growers, tour their vineyards and grape processing facilities, and learn from their university viticulture research specialists. This immersive opportunity represents a true ‘skillcation’—a chance to step away from daily operations while actively investing in your professional growth. The NYWGF presents this curated experience, blending the rejuvenation of travel with meaningful skill development, that ensures participants return home not only refreshed but equipped with cutting-edge viticulture practices, innovative solutions to common challenges, and a strengthened network of industry peers.
You are cordially invited to join Magdalena Kaiser for a four day exploration of the Niagara Wine Region from March 30 - April 2, 2026. Magdalena will lead daily visits to some of the most notable wineries in the region. For the past seventeen years, Magdalena has been instrumental in raising the global profile of Ontario wine, helping to position the region as a must-visit destination for wine lovers. Certified by both the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, she is a passionate advocate for sustainability in winemaking, viticulture and travel.
Magdalena serves as a judge for the Decanter World Wine Awards and as Canada’s regional ambassador for The Old Vine Conference, roles that take her around the world to discover, evaluate and celebrate some of the planet’s most compelling wines. Through her artisanal label @TinyBatchWine, she produces magnums of Gamay and skin-contact Gewürztraminer as a heartfelt tribute to her father’s legacy. A passionate cook, she loves celebrating the cultural connections between wine and food, especially those from Canada and from her Austrian, Italian and Istrian heritage.
