Stunning Norwegian Fjords Coastal Voyage
Apr 9 - 20, 2027
Norway Beyond the Crowds
April 9–15 or April 9–20, 2027
With Havila Voyages
Not a cruise. A coastal journey.
This is Norway the way most travelers never experience it.
No giant floating resorts.
No crowded tourist ports.
No casinos or water slides.
Instead?
A smaller Norwegian ship quietly gliding through dramatic fjords, tiny fishing villages, Arctic landscapes, and some of the most breathtaking scenery on earth.
Havila Voyages is one of the few cruise lines permitted to sail through protected fjords now off-limits to larger ships. That matters—because it means we get closer to the real Norway.
And honestly? That’s exactly why I chose this trip.

Why This Voyage Is Different and Why I Chose This One
I didn’t want a typical cruise for Norway.
Norway deserves something quieter. More intimate. More authentic.
I wanted:
- smaller ships
- dramatic scenery
- cozy Nordic atmosphere
- authentic coastal towns
- fewer crowds
- and a trip where the scenery itself becomes the experience
This voyage feels less like a cruise and more like slowly moving through a living postcard.
One moment you’re wrapped in a blanket watching snow-dusted mountains drift past under a glass-roof lounge. The next you’re sailing into a tiny Arctic harbor most travelers will never see.
That’s the magic of this trip.
- The smaller ship allows us access to restricted fjords like Geirangerfjord
- Small ship experience (no crowds, no chaos)
- 34 authentic coastal ports—not just tourist stops
- Working coastal route with real Norwegian history
- Ever-changing scenery—mountains, waterfalls, fishing villages, Arctic landscapes
This is often described as the most beautiful coastal voyage in the world—and once you understand the route, it’s easy to see why.
Imagine This…
You wake early and pull back the curtains.
Outside your window: snow-covered mountains rising straight from the sea. Tiny red fishing villages. Water so still it barely looks real.
You grab coffee and head upstairs wrapped in a sweater while the ship quietly glides through a fjord most large cruise ships can no longer enter.
No noise.
No crowds.
Just Norway.

Which Cabin Would I Choose?
Honestly?
For Norway, I think the Seaview Superior cabins are worth it if your budget allows.
This isn’t a port-heavy Mediterranean cruise where you’re constantly off the ship.
On this voyage, the scenery IS the experience.
There’s something magical about waking up and seeing fjords and mountains outside your window before you’ve even had coffee.
That said, the interior cabins are thoughtfully designed and absolutely comfortable—especially for travelers who plan to spend most of their time in the panoramic lounges and observation decks.
There’s no wrong choice here.
What It Feels Like On Board
The atmosphere onboard is beautifully Scandinavian:
- calm
- modern
- understated
- cozy without being stuffy
The ship interiors were designed to reflect Norway itself—its sea, sky, glaciers, and mountains.
You’ll find:
- panoramic observation lounges
- heated jacuzzis overlooking the fjords
- Nordic-inspired restaurants
- outdoor viewing decks everywhere
- lectures and onboard activities
- quiet spaces to simply sit and absorb the scenery
This is a ship designed for travelers who appreciate experience over entertainment.
The Food Experience
Menus evolve throughout the voyage and feature ingredients and traditions from Norway’s coastal regions.
Expect:
- fresh seafood
- Arctic specialties
- regional Norwegian dishes
- cozy cafés
- panoramic bars
- elegant but relaxed dining
And yes… there will absolutely be opportunities for wine while staring dramatically at fjords. It would almost be rude not to.

A Journey, Not Just a Cruise
This route has been part of Norway’s coastal life for over 130 years.
It’s not just a scenic itinerary—it’s a working coastal passage, connecting towns and communities along the way.
Stops range from quick 10–45 minute visits in small villages to longer stays in larger towns. It’s constantly changing, constantly interesting.
How This Fits With Your Travel Plans - Lots of Choices
This cruise can be booked:
- As a standalone trip, or
- As an extension to our Copenhagen trip
Either way works beautifully.
Why April Is Such A Wonderful Time To Go
April is one of Norway’s most beautiful transitional seasons.
You’ll often still see snow-covered mountains while also enjoying:
- longer daylight hours
- emerging spring colors
- fewer crowds
- dramatic scenery
- crisp, fresh Arctic air
It’s a gorgeous balance between winter atmosphere and spring awakening.
Want to Stay Longer in Norway?
You absolutely should.
There are incredible options for:
- Oslo
- Bergen
- The Lofoten Islands
- Arctic experiences in the north
Post-trip stays can be arranged—just reach out and I’ll help you plan something that fits you perfectly.
Ready to Book?
I have reserved 7 staterooms for our group in a combination of both single and double occupancy cabins.
Because this is a smaller ship, availability is naturally limited—and these voyages do sell out.
Reservations will be handled on a first come, first served basis.
Of course, if these initial cabins book quickly, I will absolutely request additional space for the group. However, at this point, I can only guarantee the 7 staterooms currently being held.
There are also 3 different sized suites on the ship. Email me if you'd like information on their prices.
The earlier we reserve, the better our chances of securing the cabin category you want.
