The Velvet Chapter Book Retreats are an immersive weekend escape designed for readers who crave connection, creativity, and a little magic. Hosted in partnership with Travel Cultúr, this intimate retreat brings book lovers together for a weekend of slow living, shared stories, and enchanting experiences inspired by the romance and fantasy books we adore.

Over the course of a long weekend, expect craft workshops, enchanting book discussions, fantasy-inspired games, and bonding experiences that feel like they were pulled straight out of your favorite novel. Set against the serene backdrop of Sonoma County, this retreat invites you to unwind, be inspired, and connect with book lovers alike.

This is more than a getaway, it’s a chapter you’ll want to revisit again and again.

  • Rooming and Pricing Options

    Ticket pricing is based on room type + occupancy.

    Choose what feels best for your comfort level.

    Single Occupancy Room:

    $1,520

    Double Occupancy Room:

    $2,165 ($1,082.50 per person cost)

    Triple Occupancy Room:

    $2,805 ($935 per person cost)

    Important Notes:

    All rooms are a single bed rooms, except the Triple Occupancy Rooms which have one bed and one additional sleeping space. Please refer to room descriptions for more information.

    Can I come solo?
    Absolutely. This retreat is designed to feel warm, welcoming, and easy to settle into.

    What’s the age range?
    No age limit required, just good vibes and a positive attitude.

    Is this introvert-friendly?
    Yes. There are plenty of bonding moments, but also built-in downtime and optional shared spaces so you can participate at your pace. All activities are optional. Do note however that meals will be shared as a group.

    Do I need to have read a specific book?
    Nope! This is about the genre vibes and the community. Come as you are, book in hand.

    What’s the food situation?
    We’ll collect dietary needs in advance and do our best to accommodate (vegetarian/gluten-free, etc.). Please note severe allergies may be limited depending on vendor capabilities.

    Is alcohol included?
    Wine is included with dinner. Non-alcoholic options will also be available (even for the cocktail making class). Either way, this is not a drinking-focused retreat and we ask that you consume responsibly and respectfully.

    What should I pack?
    Cozy layers, comfy shoes, one high fae evening attire look, and your current read. We will send a more in-depth packing list closer to the retreat.

    What’s the cancellation policy?
    Deposit & Payment Schedule

    • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to purchase a ticket and reserve your spot.
    • The remaining 50% balance is due 14 days (2 weeks) prior to the retreat start date.

    Cancellations by Guest

    • The 50% deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable once paid.
    • Cancellations made 14 days or less prior to the retreat start date are 100% non-refundable (deposit + final balance).

    Cancellation by Organizer

    • If the retreat is cancelled by the organizer, you will receive a full refund of payments made.
    • We are not responsible for additional costs incurred (such as airfare or other travel expenses).

  • Accessibility & Comfort Notes

    We want everyone to feel comfortable and well-supported. A few things to know:

    • The Gables Wine Country Inn includes stairs / uneven walkways / rooms with no elevator access. Most rooms are upstairs.
    • The weekend includes optional downtime and plenty of space to step away and recharge.
    • We’ll share a final details email with arrival guidance, packing list, and weekend flow closer to the weekend.
  • Limited Availability

    This retreat is intentionally small — only [8–18] spots — to keep it intimate, easy to connect, and genuinely relaxing.

    Ticket timeline:

    • Tickets open: Jan 20, 2026
    • Deposit due to reserve your spot: at time of booking
    • Final payment due: March 19, 2026
    • Registration closes: When sold out, we will be taking a wait list in case of cancellations.

    If you’re thinking about it, we recommend grabbing your spot early - room inventory is limited and this one will cap quickly.

    3. Submit your traveler details + preferences
    4. Pay your deposit (payment will be authorized at time of booking. Once a room choice has been made you will receive an email via stripe pay to pay your deposit)
    5. You’ll receive a confirmation email
    6. Closer to arrival, you’ll receive your final welcome packet with packing list, schedule, and all the fun details ✨
