Machu Picchu and the Amazon with G Adventures

Hello Curious and Glorious Women!

Women In Travel adventure is going to Peru! Join me for an unforgettable, women's-only journey through Peru in October 2027! From the lush depths of the Amazon rainforest to the peaks of the Andes, this 10-day adventure combines culture, wellness, connection, and iconic history.

I've chosen this destination for a few reasons. One, it's what I personally call a Safe Adventure. We will be with an experienced tour company, G Adventures, that have local guides planned for us at every stop and a full-time guide traveling with us. Their mission is to keep us on track and safe, we only need to heed their advice for incredible experiences. Two, the Andean and Incan cultures are ones with which I am not familiar. They date so far back in history, to see the impact they still have is fascinating to me. And three, the landscape and wildlife are WILD! I'm not sure if I've ever seen anything up close to what I've seen in pictures online. Seeing the Milky Way at 11,000 feet elevation is exciting, hunting for caimans in the dark is thrilling, and arriving at my lodging in a motorized canoe sounds spine chilling - can you feel the adrenaline?

We will start the tour in Lima and end in Cusco, Peru, with incredible opportunities & options along the way. See the Full Itinerary for an overview and dig into the Daily Itinerary for more details.

Here is a little bit more to whet your travel appetite, the inclusions.

Meals & Local Flavor

  • 16 Total Meals Included: 9 breakfasts, 5 lunches, and 2 dinners.
  • Authentic Dining: Savor traditional farm-to-table cuisine at the resident-run Parwa Community Restaurant in the Sacred Valley and enjoy an authentic lunch near Maras.

Unique Tours & Cultural Immersions

  • Amazon Rainforest Lodge: A 3-day/2-night stay in the Tambopata Reserve featuring guided oxbow lake excursions, wildlife night walks, and a caiman-spotting boat safari.
  • Cusco Planetarium: An evening under the Southern Hemisphere skies learning how ancient Inca cosmology shaped Andean civilization.
  • Parque de la Papa (Potato Park): An exclusive Andean agricultural experience to learn about heritage seed conservation, traditional backstrap weaving, and natural dyeing.
  • Sacred Valley Exploration: Guided excursions through the Pisac ruins, Ollantaytambo fortress, Maras salt mines, and the circular terraces of Moray.

There are three tour options in this itinerary. The tour cost is the same for all the options, $3149 per person, based on double occupancy. You can have a solo room, based on availability, at an additional cost of $619. A $350 deposit secures your spot. The deposit is considered a Lifetime Deposit with G Adventures, meaning if you cancel before final payment, the $350 becomes a credit toward a future tour (I've also had deposit buyouts when someone cancelled and then someone else joined the tour).

One, the Inca Trail.

Two, the Lares Trek.

The third is Machu Picchu by train.

During the itinerary, the hikers will split from the touring group.
