Why Travel Insurance Matters

We believe travel insurance is a crucial element to your travel experience.  That's why we highly recommend that all clients purchase a travel insurance policy to protect their investment in their travel, especially for cruises and overseas travel.  Airlines, hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators all charge high penalties for cancellation, ranging from the full deposit to no refund at all. Travel insurance is not just about protecting the money you've invested in your trip. Most health insurance policies will not cover you when you are out of the country. When you’re wondering, "Is travel insurance worth it?" consider the small cost of buying insurance against the massive expenses of a medical emergency overseas.

Emergencies can happen when you least expect them. Travel insurance can protect you in various situations, including:

• trip delay
• trip interruption
• missed connection
• baggage delay or loss
• emergency medical and dental expenses
• emergency medical transportation

...and of course, trip cancellation.

Please also note that in order for you to obtain coverage for certain pre-existing conditions, or for supplier default, your policy must be purchased at the time of booking or shortly thereafter (depending on the terms of the policy).

I will gladly secure a quote for you, and if we do not, or are not legally able to secure coverage on your behalf, it is my strong recommendation that you purchase a policy on your own.

❌ Cancellations or Changes

If you need to cancel your trip, the following penalties apply per person:

• 65–16 days prior: 30% of the trip cost and initial deposit
• 15–8 days prior: 50% of the trip cost and initial deposit
• 7–1 days prior: 90% of the trip cost and initial deposit
• Day of departure: 100% of the trip cost

• All penalties are per person.
• No refunds will be made for unused services or pre-purchased events. Pre-paid theater/event tickets are non-refundable
• All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Havacation Travel during business hours (M-F 9am-5pm EST)

For the group

1. By 100 days before departure, at least 80% of the group must be under deposit.
2. Exchange rates for 2027 are estimates and may change.
3. This proposal is governed by CIE Tours’ Terms & Conditions.
4. CIE Tours may adjust or modify elements of the itinerary if necessary, including hotels depending on availability.

🛂 Before You Travel

• Traveler names must match passports exactly. Any corrections after deposit may incur fees.
• It is each traveler’s responsibility to obtain the correct travel documents, including passports and visas. Beginning in 2025, travelers visiting Italy, Iceland, and other EU countries must complete an ETIAS visa waiver at least 72 hours before travel.
• Travel documents will be shipped approximately 21 days before departure, provided full payment has been received. Late bookings or early document requests may require express delivery charges.
• We strongly recommend purchasing the a Travel Protection Plan. When purchased within 14 days of your initial deposit, the plan includes coverage for pre‑existing conditions and allows cancellation for covered reasons up to the day of departure.
• Personal Expenses - Personal expenses such as room service, beverages, laundry, and meals not listed in the itinerary are not included. Tips for your driver and guide are not included and are left to your discretion. 
• Children aged 12 and under receive a 10% land discount when sharing a room with two full‑paying adults. One child discount per room.
• Smoking, including e‑cigarettes, is not permitted on the motorcoach.
• If CIE Tours must cancel the tour for reasons unrelated to a Force Majeure event, they will rebook your group on the same tour for a future date within the same season at no additional land cost,or issue a Future Travel Credit. Future Travel Credits are non‑cash but transferable.
• Changes to land arrangements after booking incur a $50 per revision fee. Revisions cannot be made within 14 days of departure
• Additional terms—including medical, luggage, responsibility, arbitration, and special needs policies—are available on the CIE Tours website.
• Hotel accommodations are provided as described in your itinerary. CIE Tours may substitute similar hotels if necessary. Single rooms are limited to 25% of the group’s room allocation and incur additional charges.
