The Calabria Food Fest 2027 is a traveling experience through the places that gave Italy its name. The "first" Italy, for the Greek settlers, was precisely Calabria, the place where continental Italy begins, even geographically, emerging from the waters of the Mediterranean.
A series of tours revolves around food, the first cultural act of Mediterranean Europe, food, told by mythology millennia ago and today still a protagonist in daily life.
Calabria, Food, Fest: territory, food and wine, and celebration are the three elements that compose tailor-made travel itineraries for small groups with exclusive experiences, creating memories made of flavors, sensations, and smells intimately linked to local communities and the Calabrian cultural landscape.
A path that culminates in one of the most suggestive examples of Calabria's fortified heritage, the Castle of Squillace, which for two evenings hosts — exclusively for CFF guests — the festival events. On Sunday, there will be a Calabrese-style aperitif, featuring a concert of traditional and contemporary Mediterranean music, ceramics seminars, and tastings of oil, bread, and wine. On Monday, there will be a gala dinner featuring premium local chefs, excellent products, and live classical music.
The Calabria Food Fest reinterprets monumental heritage: ancient ruins come alive with contemporary life, overturning their ancient function of defense to open up to hospitality—bulwarks of an innovative, convivial use open to the world. No longer postcards, but liveliness, between the castle, the tower, and the village square.
Sensations and feelings are sparked by traditional music played by young musicians, by dynamic visits to oil mills, dairies, wineries, and businesses linked to excellent food, by exclusive paths in cultural sites—among archaeological sites and literary itineraries—alternated with moments of relaxation among white beaches, solitary bays, and cliffs.

Cooking Class Nudja - Soverato
Breakfast and a day dedicated to a pasta cooking class at the Spilinga Academy to learn about one of the most famous Calabrian products in the world, 'Nduja.
After lunch, transfer to Soverato. Hotel check-in
Dinner at the Brezza restaurant.
Afterwards, you can either return to the hotel to rest or choose to linger a little longer in Soverato. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the lively promenade, grab an artisanal gelato, or sip a cocktail at one of the many seaside bars — the evening is yours to savor at your own pace.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for a visit to a nearby family-run farm, nestled in the Calabrian hills. Here, you’ll witness the traditional production of ricotta cheese, and delight in a rare treat: fresh, warm ricotta, served right after it’s made.
Following this experience, we’ll enjoy a rustic and heartfelt lunch, featuring homemade dishes prepared with zero-kilometer ingredients — everything grown or raised on the farm, embodying authentic flavor and culinary simplicity.

In the afternoon, we return to Soverato, where you'll have free time to relax at your own pace—whether by the sea, at the hotel, or exploring nearby.
For those interested, an optional excursion to the nearby village of Squillace is available. Cooking Class & Free Time
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head inland to visit a local Calabrian flour mill, where you’ll discover how regional grains are processed and gain insight into one of the essential elements of Calabrian cuisine.
Next, we’ll meet the beloved “Official Nonna of Calabria Food Fest 2026.” She’ll guide us through an interactive pasta-making class, sharing her family’s techniques and stories as we learn how to shape traditional Calabrian pasta by hand.
Following lunch, we’ll return to the hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free time: relax by the sea, go for a swim, or browse the shops at your own pace.
Dinner is at your leisure, and we’ll be happy to recommend restaurants based on your cravings. Afterward, enjoy a peaceful walk along the promenade, grab a gelato, sip a cocktail, or simply return to the hotel to unwind.

At 7:00 PM, we’ll travel to the Castello di Squillace to take part in the Third Edition of the Calabria Food Fest — an exclusive, invitation-only event celebrating the region’s gastronomic excellence.

In the afternoon, we return to the hotel to rest and get ready for the grand finale of our trip:

At 7:00 PM, we’ll depart for the castle, where an unforgettable evening awaits — with exceptional food, fine wines, and a festive, elegant atmosphere shared among new friends.

Upon your arrival in the enchanting seaside town of Tropea, our team will warmly welcome you before beginning our scenic journey into the mountains of the Sila National Park, one of Southern Italy's most treasured natural landscapes.
Our first stop is the picturesque village of Camigliatello Silano, where you'll enjoy a light lunch featuring carefully selected local specialties. Every bite tells the story of this land—its forests, farms, traditions, and people.
In the afternoon, we will stroll through one of Calabria's greatest natural wonders: the Giants of Fallistro. These magnificent centuries-old black pines, some over five hundred years old, stand like silent guardians of the Sila Forest, offering an unforgettable encounter with nature.
Later, we arrive at the elegant Biafora Resort & Spa, your home throughout this unforgettable experience. The Soul of San Giovanni in Fiore
Today invites you to discover the spiritual and cultural heart of the Sila region.
Our morning begins at the magnificent Abbey of San Giovanni in Fiore, founded in the 12th century by the visionary monk and theologian Joachim of Fiore. Its remarkable architecture and profound history continue to inspire pilgrims and visitors from around the world.
We then continue to the Museum of Rural Life, where everyday objects, traditional crafts, and local customs preserve the memory of a way of life deeply rooted in the mountains of Calabria.

Following a typical lunch, you'll will experience the beauty of the old streets, houses and memories.
Visiting the Monongah Monuments. (In 2003, the Italian town of San Giovanni in Fiore erected a stone monument at Piazza Aldo Moro to honor the local miners who died in the tragic 1907 Monongah mining disaster in West Virginia. 34 victims were native sons from San Giovanni in Fiore).

Ancient Villages, Wellness & Living Traditions
This morning we journey to the breathtaking medieval village of Santa Severina, often described as one of Italy's most beautiful hidden treasures.
Perched high above the surrounding valleys, its imposing Norman castle, Byzantine heritage, and timeless stone streets transport visitors through more than a thousand years of Calabrian history.
After lunch, we return to Biafora Resort for an afternoon devoted entirely to relaxation. Enjoy the spa, unwind among the peaceful mountain surroundings, or simply embrace the slower pace that makes Sila so unique.
At 5:30 PM, the celebration begins.
We return to San Giovanni in Fiore as the town reaches the height of its Patron Saint festivities. The streets become an open-air celebration filled with music, joyful gatherings, artisan stalls, and the irresistible aromas of traditional Calabrian street food.
As night descends, we will witness the moving religious procession through the historic streets before the evening culminates in a spectacular fireworks display that illuminates the mountain sky—a magical finale to one of Calabria's most cherished celebrations.

Our final day is a celebration of the authentic flavors and extraordinary landscapes that make Calabria so unforgettable.
The morning begins with an immersive Calabrian cooking experience, where local traditions come to life through simple ingredients, family recipes, and the timeless pleasure of preparing food together. You'll learn techniques that have been handed down through generations and discover that, in Calabria, every meal is an expression of love and community.
You'll experience one of Calabria's sweetest culinary traditions during a hands-on Pitta m’pigliata workshop. More than simply preparing a dessert, you'll discover a cherished family ritual, learning the careful art of shaping this beautiful honey-and-walnut pastry exactly as Calabrian grandmothers have done for generations.
Every recipe tells a story—and today, you'll become part of it. Then, we will enjoy the fruit of our labor with lunch, consuming what we just prepared.
In the afternoon, we travel to the beautiful lakeside village of Lorica, nestled within the heart of the Sila National Park.

A vineyard lunch may become a vineyard dinner, or a tasting may be swapped with a seaside stroll. These small shifts are always in service of making your experience even better. The heart of the journey remains unchanged.
Can I do laundry during the trip?
Yes—clean clothes, no problem! In Tropea and Soverato you’ll have access to laundry services or laundromats nearby. So, feel free to pack light—you’ll have plenty of chances to freshen up.
Can I bring food home from Italy?
You’ll want to! Most travelers end up stuffing an extra suitcase with olive oil, cheese, wine, or biscotti. Just be sure to check your country’s import rules before boarding your flight—Italy will tempt you with treasures you’ll ache to carry home.
