2027 Voyage of the Glaciers — Alaska with Suitcases & Savoir Faire Society

Jul 31 - Aug 7, 2027

This is Alaska the way it deserves to be experienced: unhurried, awe-inspiring, and shared with people who appreciate every moment of it.

Our 2027 southbound Voyage of the Glaciers traces 500 miles through Alaska's Inside Passage aboard Princess Cruises' Discovery Princess. You'll wake to glaciers calving into still blue water, spend afternoons in gold rush towns and rainforest trails, and end your evenings with stories worth retelling.

Two glacier-viewing days. Three historic ports. One day at sea to take it all in. One extraordinary week with your Society.

Full Itinerary

  • Ports of Call

    Day 1 — Anchorage (Whittier), Alaska | July 31

Board Discovery Princess in Whittier, nestled at the base of the Chugach Mountains. Settle into your stateroom, explore the ship, and raise a glass as Alaska begins to unfold behind you.

    Day 2 — College Fjord & Hubbard Glacier | August 1

A full day of scenic cruising through Prince William Sound and past Hubbard Glacier, North America's largest tidewater glacier. College Fjord alone is home to more tidewater glaciers than anywhere else on earth. Listen for the deep crack of calving ice across the water.

Day 3 — Glacier Bay National Park | August 2

The centerpiece of this voyage. National Park Rangers board the ship as you cruise past Margerie Glacier and through waters frequented by humpback whales and bald eagles. Few places on earth feel this untouched.

    Day 4 — Icy Strait Point | August 3

A small, Tlingit-owned port at the edge of the Tongass National Forest. This is Alaska at its most intimate: whale watching, bear viewing, and a pace that invites you to slow down.

    Day 5 — Juneau, Alaska | August 4

Alaska's capital, reachable only by sea or air. Visit Mendenhall Glacier, take the Mount Roberts Tramway for panoramic views, or join a whale watching excursion in Auke Bay.

    Day 6 — Ketchikan, Alaska | August 5

Known for its totem poles, salmon runs, and the lush Tongass rainforest. Wander Creek Street, watch master carvers at work, or venture into one of the world's last great temperate rainforests.

    Day 7 — At Sea | August 6

A full day at sea as Discovery Princess cruises south through the Inside Passage toward Vancouver. Time to revisit your favorite spots on the ship, linger over a long breakfast, compare notes on the week's highlights, and watch the coastline drift past from your balcony.

    Day 8 — Vancouver, British Columbia | August 7

Disembark in one of North America's most beautiful Pacific cities. Stanley Park, Gastown, and world-class dining make Vancouver well worth an extra night or two.

  • Discovery Princess® Staterooms

    Choosing Your Stateroom

Discovery Princess is one of Princess's newest ships, launched in 2022 with over 1,400 balconies. For Alaska, your stateroom view matters. Here are three categories we recommend, from most spacious to most popular.

Suite The most expansive option, with a generous private balcony, separate sitting area, and premium perks including complimentary specialty dining, laundry service, and priority reservations. The balcony alone makes glacier-viewing days extraordinary. Ask us about Sky Suite availability for the largest private balcony at sea.

Starting from $5909 per person, double occupancy

Mini-Suite A meaningful upgrade in space over a standard balcony, with a separate sitting area, upgraded bathroom, and welcome bubbly on embarkation day. The extra room is especially welcome on cooler mornings when you want to watch glaciers from the comfort of your stateroom. Also available as a Reserve Collection Mini-Suite with additional dining and priority perks.

Starting from $3679 per person, double occupancy

Balcony Stateroom The most popular choice for Alaska, and for good reason. Your private balcony is a front-row seat to every glacier, every whale breach, every fjord. Also available as a Deluxe Balcony with additional space and a sofa bed.

Starting from $2972 per person, double occupancy

Your travel advisor can walk you through current availability, pricing, and which category is the best fit for how you like to travel.

Prices are subject to change and are based on double occupancy of the stateroom. Pricing for the third and/or fourth person in a stateroom, if desired and available, will be quoted at time of booking.

Princess Plus vs. Princess Premier — Which Package Fits?

*Pre-cruise price for standard fleet ships (not Sun Princess® or Star Princess®). Onboard purchase is $5/person/day more. Packages apply to guests 1 & 2. Savings based on 10-day cruise purchased pre-sailing. Pricing subject to change. See full terms & conditions.

  • Travel Insurance Options

We recommend travel insurance for every voyage, and each client receives a customized quote tailored to their trip. Alaska excursions like floatplanes, kayaking, and remote wilderness outings make comprehensive medical and evacuation coverage especially worthwhile.
