    Year round options

The best time to visit Acadia National Park in Maine is late spring (mid-May to early June) or early fall (September to mid-October). These shoulder seasons offer mild weather (50s–70s°F), ideal for hiking easy trails like Jordan Pond Path, biking the Carriage Roads, or driving to Cadillac Mountain. Spring brings blooming wildflowers and fewer crowds, while fall showcases vibrant foliage, especially around mid-October, with events like the Acadia Night Sky Festival. Summer (July–August) is peak season with warm weather (70s–80s°F) and bustling Bar Harbor, but trails and parking can be crowded, and lodging is pricier. Winter (December–February) offers a quiet, snowy escape (20s–40s°F) with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, but many park roads close, and cold limits outdoor activities. Early fall is especially senior-friendly for its moderate temps and accessibility.
