WIPs & Waves Cross Stitch Retreat is a relaxed, community-focused stitching getaway at sea hosted by Kristi Bernstein (Salty Stitcher Designs), Niece Lynn, and Patty Penn (Stitching with my Kitties) aboard a Celebrity Cruise Line 6-night Western Caribbean cruise.

Enjoy dedicated stitch sessions, designer-led inspiration from Salty Stitcher Designs, and special meet-ups with YouTube creators Niece Lynn and Patty Penn, plus plenty of time to unwind. Group Itinerary to be published closer to the event.

Kristi at Castle & Compass Adventures, sister company to Salty Stitcher Designs, will handle every detail so you can soak up the islands, the ocean views, and the joy of stitching together.

    This is more than a cruise; it’s an opportunity to connect with other like-minded stitchers in a beautiful location. No ballroom, conference lighting, uncomfortable chairs, just the pure magic and inspiration of the ocean.

    • Dedicated Stitch Sessions: Relaxed, hosted meetups on sea days and select evenings. Bring your WIPs, grab a drink, and settle in.
    • Designer-Led Inspiration: Salty Stitcher Designs will add creative spark through optional prompts, themed stitch time, and community sharing.
    • Community + Content-Friendly Moments: Niece Lynn and Patty Penn will host optional meetups and fun “stitcher social” moments. Participation is always optional.
    • Concierge-Level Planning: Castle & Compass Adventures handles the details so you can focus on the trip, not the logistics.

    Note: Final meetup times/locations are provided closer to sailing and may be adjusted based on the ship’s schedule.

  • What's Included / What's Not Included

    Retreat Fee (Non-Refundable)

    Travel Insurance (I can provide a quote)
    Airport Transfers (I can arrange for you when you provide me with your flight information)
    Pre or Post Hotels (I can arrange for you when you provide me with your flight information)
    Flights (There is an extra $50 fee if you would like me to make your flight reservations and $50 for any changes).

  • Booking Process

    1) Click on the blue button on the right.

    3) I will get back to you with any follow-up questions or requested information.

    4) You will receive an email requesting a credit card authorization for the requested items (Cruise deposit, Retreat Fees, insurance, gratuities, hotels, flights, and transfers, if requested)

    5) You will receive a confirmation email once your trip is booked, as well as follow-on information on the ship, dining options, shore excursions, and final payment reminders.

  • Payment and Key Deadlines

    Your Cruise Deposit and Retreat planning fee are due at the time of booking. Your cruise deposit is refundable in accordance with Celebrity Cruises' Terms and Conditions. For this, I highly recommend travel insurance. Your Retreat Fee is non-refundable.

    Your final payment is due 90 days before the start of the cruise (14 June 2027).

    Dining reservations and shore excursion availability are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the booking window is dictated by your Captain's Club status.

    The last day to book under the group rate is: 15 May 2027. Bookings after this day are subject to market rates and cabin availability at the time of booking.

  • Cancellation Policy & Insurance

    Celebrity Cruises cancellation policy (typical for 5–14 night sailings)

    Cancellation fees are based on how close you are to sailing; some promotions may include non-refundable deposits or stricter terms.

    • 90+ days: No charge (except non-refundable deposit amounts, if applicable)
    • 89–75 days: 25% of total cruise price
    • 74–61 days: 50% of total cruise price
    • 60–31 days: 75% of total cruise price
    • 30 days or less: 100% (no refund)

    Strong recommendation: Travel protection

    We strongly recommend travel protection to help cover unexpected cancellations, medical issues, and travel disruptions. If you’d like, we can help you compare options and select coverage aligned to your needs. Select the appropriate option on your sign up form.

  • Travel Documents and Health Guidance

    Passport: Celebrity Cruises strongly recommends traveling with a valid passport, and notes passports should typically be valid at least 6 months after your cruise ends.

    Visas/entry requirements: It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure they have the proper documentation and meet entry requirements for every port.

    Best practice: The U.S. Department of State also strongly recommends cruise passengers travel with a passport book, even when not strictly required, in case you must fly home unexpectedly

    Health requirements: Requirements (including vaccines) can change; guests are responsible for meeting any applicable health and entry rules for their itinerary. 

  • Accessibility and Special Requests

    We are happy to help coordinate and communicate needs so your trip is comfortable and seamless. Please share details in your booking form for:

    • Mobility needs (walker/wheelchair/scooter), accessible stateroom requests
    • Dietary restrictions/allergies
    • Medical devices (CPAP, etc.) and any special accommodation requests
    • Celebration notes (birthday/anniversary), dining preferences, and any other “make it magical” details

    The earlier we know, the more options we can secure.

  • FAQs

    Do I need to be an experienced stitcher?
    No. Beginners, returning stitchers, and advanced stitchers are all welcome. Bring what you love working on.

    Are stitch sessions mandatory?
    Not at all. This is your vacation. Join as many or as few meetups as you’d like.

    Can I come solo?
    Yes, solo travelers are welcome. If you’d like help exploring roommate options, note that on your form, and we’ll share what’s available (if applicable). Use the Salty Stitcher Design Facebook group to connect with other stitchers and travelers. We cannot book you until you have found a roommate.

    Can I bring a non-stitching partner/family member?
    Yes. Many guests travel with family who enjoy the cruise while you attend stitch meetups. Please indicate this person as a non-stitcher to receive the discounted rate.

    Will there be an exclusive pattern or retreat item?
    Salty Stitcher Designs will provide an exclusive pattern and other retreat items. If others are offered, details (pricing and delivery) will be announced to booked guests first.

    How does booking work?
    Complete the request form. We process bookings in the order received and confirm your cabin category and next steps.

    I’m worried I’ll lose my place if I don’t email again.
    No need. Your place in the queue is secure. Kristi will respond within 72 business hours. Staterooms are limited, and prices are guaranteed to the first 16 Staterooms. Prices subject to change following exhaustion of these staterooms.

    What if Celebrity releases a new promotion later?
    Promotions can change at any time. We’ll apply eligible offers when possible based on the fare rules tied to your booking.

    Why is my deposit refundable, but my retreat fee is non-refundable?
    Your deposit is paid to the cruise line and is subject to the cruise line’s published cancellation terms. In many cases, the cruise line will refund the deposit if you cancel within their refundable window or if you booked a refundable rate. The retreat fee covers the planning and “hard costs” that begin as soon as you are booked. Additionally, it covers the professional time and expertise required to design, coordinate, book, and support your trip from start to finish. Because the retreat fee is used to secure vendor commitments tied to your reservation, it cannot be refunded if you cancel, even if the cruise line later refunds your cruise deposit.
