This springtime river cruise gets underway in Holland’s colorful capital of Amsterdam. This 700-year-old city offers an abundance of classic architecture, cafés, and restaurants to explore before you embark on your river cruise through Holland and Belgium -perfect for garden and nature enthusiasts. For flower lovers, an expert will provide lectures on board, sharing his knowledge about botany and the world of plants.

Sail through Rotterdam’s harbor, said to be the world’s busiest port. Garden enthusiasts will delight in a visit to see the breathtaking colors of Keukenhof, also known as the “Garden of Europe.” With 70 acres of parkland and lakes, it’s one of the world’s largest flower gardens with nearly 7 million flowering bulbs bursting with color. Next, sail to Antwerp, Belgium’s second-largest city, known for its centuries-old history in diamond trading amid ancient buildings and monuments combined with modern architecture. In Ghent, Belgium, join a local expert for a guided tour of the city, including a visit to St. Baaf’s Cathedral.
Your cruise traverses back into Holland where you’ll explore Middelburg, formerly an important trading city. You’ll still get a sense of its historic wealth today with its impressive structures like the Gothic Town Hall, Abbey Tower, and bustling Market Square.

This beautiful and historic springtime river cruise concludes with more time to explore the wonderful city of Amsterdam. See the most fascinating views of the city on a canal cruise along the elegant grachten lined with homes dating back to the city’s “Golden Age.”

  • Passports

Do I need a passport to travel?

    • Yes! You must have a valid US Passport Book to travel by air outside of the US. Everyone needs a valid, undamaged Passport Book (not a card), even kids; from newborns to teenagers.

Can I use a Passport Card to fly to outside of the US?

    • No! Passport Cards are useless for travel outside of the US by air. You can only use a Passport Card to make a land crossing from the US/Canada or US/Mexico.

You will not be able to fly and gain entry to any country with a Passport Card.

I already have a Passport Book, do I need to look at my expiration date?

    • Yes! If you passport expiration date is within 6 months of the travel dates you will want to renew your passport now to ensure easy entrance/exit into your destination. Some airlines will deny you boarding if you are inside of the 6 months until expiration window.

As soon as you receive your new passport, just sign it with a pen and you can use it immediately.

The name on my passport is different than the name I use now or intend to have during/after travel (marriage, divorce, general change) can I use my valid passport with my previous name?

    • Yes, you can use your current passport (as long as it is valid with the expiration date) to travel. You MUST make sure you match ALL travel reservations exactly with the names that is on your passport, not the name you are using now or may have on your driver's license. No matter what, ALL travel reservations must match the name on your passport exactly!

How do I obtain a passport? Renew my passport?

    • Start the process immediately - it can take 6-8 weeks with normal processing times and requests.

Sharing a room with a travel partner that may need to cancel their portion of the trip but you still plan on traveling? Insurance doesn't cover any price changes that may occur to a passenger dropping out of their room reservation. That means if you have 2 people in a room and 1 decides not to go, the other remaining passengers must cover the cost of the room for the person that dropped out of the trip. When a room reservation needs to be changed/modified, it will be repriced to the current rate on the date of the request. Your room could possibly be more expensive to modify than to just have the cancelled passenger be a "no show" for your accommodation.

Travel Protection Plan payments are not refundable.

  • F.A.Q's

How can I pay for my reservation?

    • Please be prepared with a credit card. If you do not have a credit card, you may use a debit card but you may find that your debit card is denied until you notify your bank of the impending charges. In the case of any cancellation or refunds, it is best to use a credit card to ensure timely refund requests. Many credit cards also offer additional protections when travel is purchased. Please inquire with your particular credit card company. Traveling Person will receive your payment information but you will never directly pay Traveling Person, with the exception of planning fees. Traveling Person will apply your payments for you at the time and amount that you request.
    • All payments, refunds or cancellations are subject to the terms set by the travel suppliers, not by Traveling Person. (Avalon, Globus, Allianz, etc.)

Can I make multiple payments or must I pay in flat the time of reservation?

    • You will need to make a deposit ($ amount to be determined by the travel selections your pick) as soon as possible. Your rooms/air are not secured until you make your deposit. After this deposit, you can make monthly payments of any amount over $200.
    • Final payment must be made by: JANUARY 8, 2027

What if I'm not sure about who is going to be on my reservations yet? Can I add someone later? Can I drop someone later?

    • For your river cruise cabin, it is easy to make changes if needed. The last date to add/change a passenger to your cruise cabin will be January 8, 2027.
    • For air/hotels: it's totally fine if you are not certain yet... BUT if you want to ADD someone later to air/hotel reservations it is often difficult and always more expensive because your entire reservation will be repriced. It's like you never even had an original reservation, all of the pricing and space you locked in on the previous date is wiped out and you start from scratch. If you have people on your reservation that you want to DROP, it is often very easy BUT often more expensive for everyone else on the reservation as they still have to "cover" the cost of the dropped passengers room cost. Sometimes it is less expensive to have the person be a no-show at the hotel and then cancel the air directly with the airline, possible collect the air credit or refund portion. That's right, it can cost you MORE to drop a person or drop a night! Every situation is different and unique to the airline and date of changes. The best recommendation is to wait until you are 100% certain of who is in your travel party. The second best recommendation is to add someone that you are 99% certain will travel and then drop them if their plans or your plans change. The most difficult and expensive option (and even sometimes prohibited by the resort) is to add someone to your reservation after you have already made your original deposit and plans. INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER ROOM PRICE CHANGES DUE TO OCCUPANCY CHANGES!

VOLUNTARY CHANGES: once your trip is booked, $50 per request paid to Traveling Person on top of any fees required to the travel supplier for the new change (add a person, drop a person, change rooms, change flights, etc.)

What if we are 2 families/friends and want to share a reservation/room together?

    • That is fine and we can do that BUT, I DO NOT RECOMMEND booking your air together unless you live together and travel together often. Each person/family, should each book your own air directly with the airline of choice. If ANYONE (even just 1 person) needs to remove themselves from the trip, it will reprice the entire trip for everyone at the new rates on the date that you want to make the change. It is better to have a RESORT only reservation that isn't as difficult to modify.

I'm concerned about (any topic here) ... what should I do?

    • Please don't crowdsource your questions on the internet from non professionals. Review sites are helpful... but remember that the majority of reviews are from ONE-time travelers or uninformed, sensational posts/sites. Maybe these are well-traveled people? Maybe this is the first time they have left their home state? Even 'experienced' travelers rarely have the insights of a travel professional who specializes in certain destinations. Take the online reviews with a grain of salt (don't even get me started on the fan pages of resorts). You may miss out on something amazing if you use these as your decision making guide.
    • Conditions and procedures are constantly changing. What someone might consider and rave to be the "best" for them might be a nightmare to you. I am here to help you take away some subjectivity from these one-time reviewers.

What are the change and cancellation policies?

    • All terms and conditions of changes and cancellations will be included in your personal quote and final reservation confirmation from your travel suppliers.
