As you journey through the small market towns, you will spot the hills that lead toward Nine Mile, in the parish of St. Ann’s, to visit the birthplace of the undisputed King of Reggae. At Nine Mile, you will hear the story of Bob Marley’s childhood and rise to stardom, taking in where he was brought up, as well as the mausoleum where his body was laid to rest, along with his guitar. Also, see if you can spot the Rasta-colored ‘rock pillow’ where Marley laid his head when searching for inspiration. There are lots of lovely tributes to Marley around the village, from street art to statues, making sure the memory of a musical hero is kept alive.
