TANZANIA VISA INFORMATION

The Tanzania Immigration and Home Affairs Department just recently launched an upgraded new Online Visa System. A prospective visitor to the United Republic of Tanzania can now easily apply, make payment, and receive his/her Visa Grant Notice online. Clients normally apply for the Visa around 1-2 months in advance of travel. US Citizens must always and are only allowed a Multi-Entry Visa. The cost is US$100 per person. The Multi-Entry Visa is valid for one year from the date of issue.

To access these services, an applicant is required to visit the Tanzania Immigration Services Department's website https://visa.immigration.go.tz/ to apply for a New Visa. Then, an applicant will submit his/her relevant scanned document attachments online, after which he/she will receive an email message containing User Identification Number that he/she can use to track status of his/her visa application online.

Thereafter, an applicant will be required to make payment of his/her visa application fee either by Visa Card, Master Card, or Swift Transfer (i.e. depositing money directly into the Tanzania Immigration Services Department Bank Account at a bank counter). After payment of the respective fee, an applicant will receive a notification that the payment has been received.

Finally, an applicant will receive a "Visa Grant Notice" through his/her email and begin his/her trip to the United Republic of Tanzania.
