This tour begins with a scenic 20-minute drive from Picton to the tranquil shores of Ngakuta Bay, nestled in the heart of Queen Charlotte Sound, one of Marlborough's most stunning natural harbours.
From here, enjoy a guided kayaking experience along the sheltered southern coastline of the Grove Arm. Surrounded by lush native bush and dotted with peaceful sandy beaches, this area offers a serene and immersive way to connect with the natural beauty of the Marlborough Sounds.
If time and conditions permit, your adventure continues across the Sound to explore the untouched, forested bays on the northern side of the Grove Arm. The tour concludes back at Ngakuta Bay, where your return transport to Picton awaits.
Good to Know:
This tour is conducted in double sea kayaks and offers adventure suitable to who are comfortable around water. Participants must be a minimum of 13 years old. Wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing in preparation for exposure to the elements, bring along a dry change of clothing in a day pack plus bio degradable sunscreen, a towel and bottled water.
All kayakers will be guided however a good level of fitness and mobility is needed, as you will be paddling for 2 hours, sometimes in breezy conditions requiring sustained strenuous exertion.
All gear is provided though dress for the weather.
