As a U.S. citizen, you will need:
- ✅ A valid U.S. passport book (recommended to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your trip, although Canada does not generally require 6 months of validity for U.S. citizens).
- ✅ Your Holland America boarding documents.
- ❌ A birth certificate and driver's license alone are not sufficient for this one-way itinerary because the cruise ends in Canada.
Canada entry requirements
As a U.S. citizen entering Canada by cruise:
- ✅ No visa is required.
- ✅ No Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is required.
- ✅ You may be asked routine questions by Canadian border officials about the purpose and length of your visit.
If you're flying home from Québec City
You'll also need your passport book to board your flight back to the United States, since all international air travel to the U.S. requires a passport.
