Tucked at the southern tip of Spain, Gibraltar is a captivating British outpost, famously dominated by the towering 1,400-foot limestone Rock. This strategic location at the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, just 12 miles from the African coast, has made Gibraltar a key military stronghold for centuries.
Despite its small size, Gibraltar’s influence far exceeds its dimensions, and its unique position has made it a hub for British holidaymakers. Visitors flock to the Rock for its scenic views and rich history, as well as for the distinctive atmosphere that blends British culture with a Mediterranean vibe. It offers duty-free shopping with plenty of familiar British high street stores, making it a favorite for bargain hunters.
While small, Gibraltar’s winding roads can be narrow and steep, which is why excursions are typically operated by 22-seater mini-buses, each with a driver/guide to ensure smooth travel and to provide informative insights into the destination. Due to local health and safety regulations, mobility aids such as walking aids or collapsible wheelchairs are not permitted on these mini-buses. However, if you need extra space, we can arrange for the Rock Tour by taxi, which accommodates mobility aids. If this is required, please notify the Tours and Travel office once you board the ship, as taxi spaces are limited.
Whether you're taking in the panoramic views from the top of the Rock, exploring the historic sites, or enjoying the relaxed, British charm of this unique destination, Gibraltar offers a memorable experience for all visitors.
