Included:
This is the big hike, up the 13,402 foot (3,976 meters) Acatenango volcano. The ascent generally takes five to six hours, but all hikers are encouraged to move at their own pace. This adventure includes meals, bilingual guides specially trained to work with blind climbers, porters to carry backpacks, hiking poles, and a comfortable, fully equipped campground near the crater and facing the active Fuego volcano. Witnessing by sound and sight the raw power of a live eruption is truly awesome. Don’t worry, though, Fuego is far enough away that you’ll be fine zipped up in your sleeping bag.
***Note that sturdy shoes or hiking boots are essential for his hike. If you do not own these, there are reputable places in Antigua where they can be rented.
