Itinerary

Day 1 – Ljubljana, Slovenia

Fly to Ljubljana, where you transfer to your hotel. After check-in, take time to relax or join a guided orientation walk this afternoon to better acquaint yourself with Ljubljana. This evening, meet your fellow travelers and share a welcome drink before enjoying an evening at leisure in Ljubljana. Your Viking Tour Director is available to help you plan your time in Ljubljana so you can make the most of your visit.

Day 2 – Ljubljana & Lake Bled, Slovenia

This morning, embark on a full-day excursion, starting in the enchanting medieval town of Radovljica. Take a guided walk through its old town, concluding at a historic inn where you will craft traditional honey bread biscuits. Following lunch, travel to Lake Bled, where you will set out on a scenic boat ride to Bled Island. Here, explore its picturesque chapel and iconic wishing bell, then enjoy a stroll amid Bled’s charming streets. After, return to Ljubljana for an evening at leisure. (B, L)

Day 3 – Ljubljana, Slovenia & Zagreb, Croatia

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and follow your guide on a captivating walking tour of Ljubljana. Ride the funicular to Ljubljana Castle for panoramic views over the city. Pass by Dragon Bridge, Triple Bridge and Prešernov Trg Square. Admire the architecture of city hall, Saint Nicholas’s Cathedral and the Central Market. Enjoy free time for lunch, then board your motor coach for the transfer to Zagreb. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. (B)

Day 4 – Zagreb, Croatia

This morning, set out on a panoramic tour by motor coach of Zagreb, nestled between the slopes of Medvednica Hill and the banks of the Sava River. View such sights as the medieval old town and the Gothic-style Church of St. Marcus. At the conclusion of your excursion, you may choose to spend the rest of the day at your leisure or join an optional guided tour. (B)

Day 5 – Budapest, Hungary

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and start your transfer by motor coach to Budapest. Along the way, stop along the shores of Lake Balaton in Keszthely, where you will explore the historic Festetics Palace and its Helikon Palace Museum. Enjoy a guided tour of the Noble Interior Exhibition and marvel at Hungary’s only surviving private library of the nobility. After lunch, continue to Budapest and board your awaiting ship. (B, L)
