* European Travel Information and Authorization system

❗All US travelers, regardless of their age, will need ETIAS authorization to travel to any of 30 European countries.

ETIAS is expected to go into effect 6 months after the launch of the EES (which will replace physical passport stamps) -- the new target date for ETIAS is Q4 of 2026

The fee is €7 per person.

• What It Is: ETIAS travel authorization is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to any of these 30 European countries in the Schengen area.

  • It is linked to a traveler's passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorization.
  • With a valid ETIAS travel authorization, you can enter the territory of these European countries as often as you want for short-term stays - normally for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
• What It Isn't: It’s not a visa. It doesn’t guarantee entry, but rather acts as a pre-screening. When you arrive, a border guard will ask to see your passport and other documents and verify that you meet the entry conditions.

• Citizens from countries that are currently visa-exempt for Schengen Area travel will need to apply. This includes visitors from the US, Canada, Australia, and others.
• Age: Minors under 18, and seniors over 70 will also need an ETIAS, but are not required to pay.

• The application is simple, online, and generally approved in minutes. HOWEVER, if they need additional information, it could take up to 30 days, so please apply well in advance.
• Make sure passport information matches the application details TO THE LETTER — typos could lead to a denial.

    ⏰ Submission of the online application for approval must be done at minimum 96 hours prior to departure HERE.

• Personal information including your name(s), surname, date and place of birth, nationality, home address, parents’ first names, email address and phone number;
• Travel document (passport) details;
• Details about your level of education and current occupation;
• Details about your intended travel and stay in any of the countries requiring ETIAS;
• Details about any criminal convictions, any past travels to war or conflict zones, and whether you have recently been subject of a decision requiring you to leave the territory of any country.
