Electricity
The city power grid operates at a voltage of 220 volts and has a frequency of 50 hertz. It is important to note that if you plan to use electrical appliances in Croatia, you will need to purchase a power plug adapter that is compatible with the local power sockets, which are of type F.
Water
In Croatia, you can drink tap water without any concerns about its safety or quality. The government has implemented strict regulations to ensure that the water supply meets the highest standards for potability.
That being said, when traveling to new places, it's natural to exercise caution and opt for bottled water as a precautionary measure. This is especially true if you're unsure about the local water quality or if you have a sensitive stomach.
Bottled water is widely available and convenient to carry with you, giving you peace of mind and keeping you hydrated throughout your travels.

The Republic of Croatia has established customs regulations that meet the high standards of the European Union countries. Visitors to the country are permitted to bring in and take out foreign currency freely, provided that it does not exceed the value of 3,000 euros. However, if you are carrying more expensive professional and technical equipment, you will need to declare it at the border.
Pets
If you are planning on bringing your furry friend with you on your trip, be sure to obtain an International certificate from a registered veterinarian. This certificate must state that your pet has been vaccinated against rabies at least 15 days prior to travel, but not more than six months ago.

Purchase tax reimbursement for foreign citizens
When visiting Croatia, tourists who make purchases (excluding petroleum derivatives) that exceed 70 Euros per receipt can reclaim the Value Added Tax (VAT), also known as "PDV" in Croatia. To do so, they must request a form PDV-P from the salesperson at the time of purchase, which will need to be filled out and stamped on the spot.
Before leaving Croatia, the receipt must be verified by the Croatian Customs service. Within six months of purchase, a PDV refund in Euros can be obtained either by returning to the same shop where the goods were purchased (in which case the tax is refunded immediately), or by sending the verified receipt back to the shop along with the account number for the refund to be paid. In the latter case, the refund will be processed within 15 days of receiving the claim.
It's important to note that this process only applies to purchases made by non-residents of Croatia. The VAT refund is not applicable to goods that are used or consumed in Croatia, and it also does not apply to services or goods such as petroleum derivatives. Additionally, it's worth checking the terms and conditions of the shop you're purchasing from, as some may require a minimum purchase amount or a processing fee for VAT refunds.
