More than just your typical London hotel bar, Caxton is a meeting spot for guests and locals alike and over the years it has played local to some of Westminster’s most influential.
Caxton Bar provides a welcoming and homely environment for guests and locals to meet for a drink or those looking for an informal bar meal. The Bar offers a large range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including signature cocktails and ‘flights’ of wine or whisky designed to give guests the chance to compare, contrast and discover new flavours. For those looking for a quick bite, a menu featuring 'classics' such as fish & chips and club sandwiches is served throughout the day.
The Bar has witnessed many historic meetings over the years. Winston Churchill often enjoyed a glass or two whilst working from the Hotel during WWII, when the SOE used the hotel as their headquarters. Post-war, the bar continued to be a regular meeting point for spies; double agent Guy Burgess is heavily rumoured to have met his Russian counterpart here to hand over secret government files.
