A few helpful tips to keep everything running smoothly so you can focus on enjoying your time away:
If you experience flight delays or cancellations during travel, please text or email us right away. We’ll need to notify your transportation provider for any transfer adjustments, and in some cases, we may also need to notify the resort.
The U.S. dollar is widely accepted, so there’s no need to exchange currency before your trip. We recommend bringing small bills ($1, $5, $10) for gratuities and using a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) for purchases at the resort. Please avoid exchanging money for local currency at the airport.
Gratuities are included at most all-inclusive resorts, but additional tipping is always appreciated for exceptional service. You may wish to tip private transfer drivers and guides, as well as spa staff, bartenders, and wait staff for standout service. Tipping can be done in U.S. dollars.
Official check-in time is 3:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, the front desk will collect your information, but your room may not be ready until later in the day. Bedding type is not guaranteed by the resort. You will have full access to resort amenities while you wait, so we recommend packing medications, valuables, and a swimsuit in your carry-on bag so you can begin enjoying the resort right away.
We recommend drinking bottled water and using bottled water when brushing your teeth. Ice served at your resort is purified and safe to consume. If dining off-property, it’s best to avoid tap water, skip ice in beverages, and be cautious with raw fruits and salads.
Upon arrival at the airport and sometimes around the resort, you may be approached by individuals offering transportation assistance, excursions, or vacation club/timeshare presentations. These are not affiliated with your transfer or reservation. We recommend politely declining and continuing on to your pre-arranged transportation.
The resort may request a credit card upon arrival for incidentals such as spa services, shopping, or upgraded experiences. Many hotels will place a temporary hold on your card at check-in for these incidentals. If no charges are made to your room, this hold will automatically be released after your stay.
We strongly recommend using a credit card rather than a debit card, as debit card holds will tie up actual funds in your account and can sometimes be higher than credit card holds. Release times for debit card holds may also vary depending on your bank.
Rooms are equipped with standard U.S. outlets, so no adapters are needed. You’ll also find hair dryers and either irons or garment steamers in your room.
The state of Quintana Roo requires a VISITAX for all departing international travelers (approximately $10–$20 USD per person depending on exchange rates). This can be completed before your trip, during your stay, or at the airport prior to departure. Once completed, you will receive a QR code, which may be required at the airport. We strongly recommend completing this ahead of time for a smoother departure: http://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/
