Read Me Before the trip!!
Welcome to AmeriFaggle 2026 in Sint Maarten, hosted by Amicus Travel and the “Faggle Command”. This will be our fourth year on this trip, and we’re so excited you were able to join us!
About the island:
While Sint Maarten, and its residents always treat us phenomenally well, having our trip in October every year does present some challenges. A few things to note:
The island is very American receptive. The dollar is accepted everywhere, and the locals speak English well. However, American Express is not widely accepted across the island. We recommend using a Visa card primarily while on the island.
Our resort offers many amenities without having to leave. Several restaurants, 5 pools, 2 swim up pool bars, a beach bar, a couple souvenir shops, a gym, a spa, and a grocery store just to name a few. The main drag of Simpson Bay is also within walking distance. We recommend stopping at the grocery store and stocking your room with booze and snacks!
It’s hurricane season; and not just the drink! This will occasionally cause some delays in the dive schedule. Because of this, most non-diving activities are only tentative until we see that diving can commence as scheduled. Non-Divers only need to worry about this if the hurricane affects any of your scheduled activities.
This is Sint Maarten’s off season. Owners of small businesses use this time to take vacations (like us!) and focus on their family. Thus, it is common to find that businesses are unexpectedly closed when you want to visit them, and no, it does not always show it on the map or their website. The point? Be flexible and understanding when you inevitably show up somewhere and there is a handwritten note saying they are closed for the month.
Your Diving:
You are not scheduled to dive. If you change your mind, let us know!
Transportation:
Drivers will be assigned to each rental car and the transportation schedule will be posted shortly before the trip commences. This designation is for sponsored AmeriFaggle transportation only. However, it does identify who has been designated as a driver for each rental car for the duration of the trip. That said, they are not taxis. Outside of group activities, you are responsible for your own transportation or coordinating time to use the cars.
Your Swag:
Your AmeriFaggle branded swag is presented to you in a drawstring bag. You should receive: 1) A Rash Guard (shirt), 2) A Tumbler, 3) Chapstick, and 4) A Wristband. The wristband will show that you are with the group so you can receive exclusive discounts and access to our events. The Tumbler can be used for your drinks throughout the trip. Minerva at the Villas pool bar will even fill it for you while making your drink. Fun Fact: it will hold 2 standard drinks from the bar, making it perfect for the buy one get one during Happy Hour!
Group Activities:
Scheduled group outings are reflected in your itinerary. Please pay attention to times and make sure you meet up with the group to go on each outing. Typical meeting point is in the lobby of the resort or in the parking lot by the cars.
Unscheduled group outings pop up all the time. Suggest something to do in the group chat or monitor it for what others are suggesting. Feel free to join in on anything you’d like!
Breakfast Vouchers:
Your folder contains vouchers to be redeemed for breakfast at Juliette’s Bistro each day of your stay. Simply take this voucher with you to the restaurant and turn it in with your check to get your entrée and a drink (restrictions apply) paid for.
Feestcafe:
Our partner, Feestcafe, has offered our group an exclusive discount at their establishment. If you show your wristband, you will receive 20% off their entire menu.
Group Discounts:
Other Group Discounts will be available. As we’re always working on the list, it will be announced during the Welcome Party and posted in the WhatsApp at trip start.
Thanks for joining us this year and remember to have fun! If you have any questions or need any clarification, contact Jake or Wesley. ~ Amicus Travel and Faggle Command
