Description

This half-day bike tour is one of the best ways to explore the Tuscan hills and enjoy Florence from a completely different perspective.

Your journey begins in Florence’s Oltrarno district, away from the busy tourist areas. Here you’ll meet your expert guide and get fitted on your high-quality touring bike (Electric bikes can be booked in advance for an extra - please request them ASAP in case).

You’ll leave the city behind and start riding up the quiet roads that lead to Villa Poggio Imperiale and into the countryside, with no traffic and typical cobblestone narrow streets.

After enjoying some panoramic stops to learn about the history of the area and the methods of natural extra virgin olive oil making, we will also pass by the towns of Arcetri and Pian dei Giullari, where Galileo used to live, and we'll also see the star observatory named after him!

We'll then make our way to a beautiful countryside venue to relax and enjoy local products paired with a glass of Chianti wine and extra virgin olive oil with homemade bread.

Our return leg back to Florence will take us to some amazing views over the city, and we'll also pass by the spectacular San Miniato al Monte, one of the best views of Florence, where we will stop for pictures.

We continue downhill from there and back into Florence, coming into the San Niccolo' area, until we get back to the starting point.

Recommendations

• Wear comfortable shoes and rain gear if necessary.
• If special care is needed as regards food i.e. (diabetics/allergies) please let us know in advance and we will endeavor to accommodate you. We can accommodate vegetarians or vegans.
• If you have kids younger than 14 years of age, you can still book the tour but only as a PRIVATE experience. In this case, we ask that you contact us directly via e-mail to request the private tour quote and availability (let us know also the heights and ages). This is to guarantee the safety of all the participants, good pacing of the tour, and sufficient care for everyone! In any case, it’s crucial that every participant must be proficient and used to riding a bike. We are going to share the road with other vehicles so it’s important to have good control over the bike. Finally, if a participant has mobility issues, heart diseases, or physical limitations of other types, we don’t suggest booking this tour as it can be a straining activity and not safe. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, we reserve the right to not make you join the tour if we don’t consider you are in the condition to join the tour safely.

Not Included

• Optional upgrade to an E-bike for an extra €20 per person (minimum height 150 cm and minimum age 14 years old) – Electric bikes might be available if you email us ASAP (limited number available!) – please ask for them if you are not used to biking!
• Tips

Restrictions

• Must be able to ride a bike. The bike ride is easy/moderate depending on an individual physical activity. Participants of the excursion affirm that they are entirely responsible for their own actions and that any claim for damages to the company We Like Tuscany is waived.
• Please be aware that we are not a bike-learning school. We reserve the right to deny any participant taking part or continuing the bike tour if we feel the participant is unable to operate the bike safely. Our decision is final. No refunds are offered.
