This extraordinary excursion includes a generous sampling of 2 distinct cultures: Dutch and French. Your local guide will introduce you to the island highlights, but yet allow time to meander on your own in this Caribbean treasure.
Your journey begins with a photo stop in the Oyster Pond area where the 2 sides of the island converge. Onward to Orient Bay we traverse, where you will have approximately an hour to enjoy one of the best beaches on the island as you relax in the sun, sea and sand. Perhaps grab a beverage and lunch.
We then journey over to the French Capital, Marigot, for 40 minutes of free time to experience the culture and local life at markets, shops, and restaurants. As you meander the streets and alleys, the flavor of the French city will be distinct. If you are are feeling energetic and adventurous, you can climb the 100 steps to see Historic Fort Louis.
The world famous Maho Beach awaits you on the Dutch side as you prepare your phones and cameras to capture planes approaching Princess Juliana International Airport. The one-hour stop will allow you to watch and feel the breeze of planes as they fly in at low altitudes on short runways.
As we drive through the Simpson Bay area, take note of this largest inland lagoon in the West Indies of the Caribbean. It is known as the "island of entertainment" and is vibrant with music and restaurants.
Cole Bay Hill offers you a perfect perch for panoramic views of the marina, neighboring islands, and tropical scenery.
As we arrive back to the Philipsburg area, you may choose to shop and sightsee independently or return to the cruise pier.
