Taha'a shares its lagoon with Raiatea, and that lagoon is something else entirely. Ashore, the island moves at its own pace. Visit a working vanilla plantation and learn how the world's most prized spice grows in long, elegant vines through the forest canopy. Stop at a pearl farm and watch artisans coax lustrous black pearls from the oysters that thrive in these waters. These are the pearls and the vanilla that end up in the finest kitchens and jewelry boutiques in Paris... and here you are, watching them being made.
If the water calls louder than the shore, answer it. Snorkel straight off Evrima's Marina platform into coral gardens teeming with color, or take a tender to one of the private motus that sit at the edge of the reef. White sand, warm water, and no one else around.
