Guided Bike Tours

As the first river cruise line to carry a fleet of complimentary bicycles on board, we are proud to offer included excursions for you to pedal into historic city centers and along the riverbanks. 

Whether you feel like joining one of our exclusive guided bike tours, or you want to reserve a bike to discover a destination on your own, there are many ways for you to explore on two wheels during your river cruise. From lighter five-mile bike tours to rides that stretch over 20 miles, we offer excursions for guests at any level. 

Your guide will be sure to stop and point out highlights along the way, providing interesting facts and history, as well as much-needed water breaks! Often, there is some built-in free time for you to explore off your bike. And best of all, to ensure no guests are left behind, there is typically a guide both at the front and back of the tour group, so whatever pace you pedal, you will have peace of mind you will be taken care of and find your way back to the ship. 

Guided Hikes

Take in the sights from a unique perspective by joining one of our included hikes. Connect with nature while enjoying fresh air and lovely views as you stretch your legs. Trek up to the Veste Oberhaus in Passau, Germany for incredible views over Old Passau.

• A non-refundable deposit of $350 per person for Economy and Premium Economy; $600 per person for Business/First Class is required at time of ticketing
• AirPlus is applicable to new Europe Group reservations within 330 days of travel.
• AirPlus must be added to eligible reservation within 45 days from the date the booking was originally made.
• AirPlus rates are round-trip, trans-Atlantic airfare departing from all gateways (based on availability).
• All guests traveling together are not guaranteed the same flight schedule when reserving AirPlus. To ensure all guests travel together, we recommend booking Custom Air.

As you prepare for your upcoming trip, we want to ensure you have peace of mind. Travel insurance will be offered at the time of booking, providing essential protection for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical Expenses, Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, Trip Delay, and Baggage Delay.

The cost for this coverage is 12.25% of the reservation total per person, and please note that coverage varies by state, so we will need the residential address of each client wishing to add this option. You can purchase this insurance up until the time of Final Payment. Additionally, preexisting conditions will be covered if the insurance is added by the final payment date.

For those interested in extra protection, we offer the Travel Waiver Plus 31 (CFAR waiver) for $150 per person, which can only be purchased alongside Allianz insurance at the time of deposit. This waiver allows clients with denied claims to receive their penalty amounts (excluding travel protection premiums) as Future Cruise Credit for other sailings with AmaWaterways, provided cancellations are made at least 31 days prior to the trip start.
