Itinerary:

Day 1: Welcome to Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Mongolia's vibrant capital, where you'll be greeted at the airport and transferred to our centrally located hotel. Meet your fellow travelers and local guides over a welcome dinner before settling in for the night in preparation for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa Cliffs)
Journey south into the Gobi Desert, enjoying scenic landscapes along the way. Arrive at the spectacular White Stupa Cliffs in time for sunset, when the colorful rock formations glow in shades of red and white. Overnight in a traditional ger camp.

Day 3: Yol Valley
Travel into the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains and explore the breathtaking Yol Valley, a dramatic canyon where ice can remain even during the warmer months. Spend the night at the renowned Dream Gobi Lodge in comfortable en-suite gers.

Day 4: The Singing Sand Dunes
Begin the day with a hike through Yol Valley before continuing to Khongoryn Els, Mongolia's largest and most famous sand dunes. Climb the towering dunes, listen to the "singing" sand beneath your feet, and watch an unforgettable desert sunset.

Day 5: Camel Ride & The Flaming Cliffs
Experience a peaceful camel ride alongside a local herder family before visiting the legendary Flaming Cliffs, where the world's first dinosaur eggs were discovered. Explore the glowing red cliffs at sunset before overnighting in a comfortable ger camp.

Day 6: Ongi Monastery
Leave the desert behind as the landscape gradually transforms into rolling green valleys. Explore the peaceful ruins of Ongi Monastery overlooking the river before spending the evening in a traditional ger camp.

Day 7: Orkhon Valley & Nomadic Cooking Experience
Visit the beautiful Orkhon Valley and enjoy one of the highlights of the journey—a hands-on cooking experience with a local herder family. Learn to prepare traditional Mongolian dishes while sharing stories and authentic hospitality. Tonight you get to choose to stay with the local herder family for the full experience or at the nearby en-suite camp. Our group can split so no wrong choice!

Day 8: Tsenkher Hot Springs
Travel through the scenic Khangai Mountains to Tsenkher Hot Springs. Spend the afternoon soaking in the natural mineral pools, relaxing beneath the open sky, and enjoying one of the most peaceful evenings of the trip.

Day 9: Erdene Zuu Monastery & Hustai National Park
Visit the historic Erdene Zuu Monastery before continuing to Hustai National Park in search of Mongolia's famous Takhi horses, the world's only truly wild horses, as they emerge at dusk.

Day 10: Return to Ulaanbaatar
Return to Ulaanbaatar for a farewell lunch and some final shopping before transferring to the airport for your flight home, bringing with you unforgettable memories of Mongolia's landscapes, wildlife, and warm nomadic culture.

What's included:
Accommodations, private transport, guide fees, activities, meals as listed, airport meet-and-greet, and all transfers
Not included: International airfare, travel insurance (strongly recommended), alcoholic beverages, personal expenses (souvenirs, laundry, etc), optional gratuities for local guides and drivers

About the hikes
Yol Valley is the main walk: 2–3 miles on a mostly flat gorge floor, 2–3 hours at a walking pace, no real elevation. The Khongor dune climb is optional and entirely self-paced — halfway up is a completely respectable stopping point, and the view is already enormous. Everything else is strolling.

This trip is fully private, so the vehicles are always with you. Anyone who prefers to skip a walk rides along the valley floor at Yol or waits with tea and the view. No one is ever left behind or held back.
