Visit Chikurinji Temple, a renowned academic center where scholars and monks have gathered for centuries. Founded by Kokushi Yumemado in the late 13th century, the temple became the site of his spiritual training for over two years. The main hall, “Monju,” built in the early Edo period, is a designated important cultural asset. The treasure hall, adjacent to Yamamon, houses 17 Buddha statues from the Fujiwara and Kamakura periods, all of which are nationally recognized cultural treasures.
