For those hungry for a true dose of polar adventure, set out for an exciting open-air camping trip that gives you the chance to experience the Antarctic wilderness as few travelers have. The crew will aim for at least one night of camping, determined by weather and local conditions when the vessel can stay close to shore. After dinner on board, you'll set out accompanied by experienced expedition guides for your night on the ice. While campers are on shore, the ship will maintain radio contact. The next morning, after the campsite is cleaned and disassembled, you'll return to the ship for breakfast.
Group Size: This is limited to a maximum of 30 participants, so please be sure to reserve your spot well in advance to ensure you'll have the chance to participate. Camping must be reserved prior to departure and a minimum of 10 passengers is required to induce the activity.
Includes: All necessary camping gear including breathable bivouac polar sleeping bags that are wind and waterproof. You'll also receive mats and boots. One portable field toilet is provided per group.
Restrictions: IAATO regulations do not allow for camp stoves, fuel, or food on shore, with the exception of emergency rations and water.
