Afterwards, you will have lunch enroute to your next adventure, the Leadville Railroad! Take a step out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary on board the rails of the Leadville Railroad. This fun, relaxing scenic train ride is perfect for everyone in your group. Take in the breathtaking Rocky Mountain scenery, breathe in the crisp, clean mountain air at 10,152 feet!Learn about Leadville's rich and colorful history, including some of our most famous characters, the Tabors, Molly Brown, and even Doc Holiday. Your experience will be in the Lounge Car. The Lounge cars are fully enclosed and heated when appropriate. There is usually an attendant in the lounge car to assist with drinks and snacks you purchase on board. The Lounge car seats are booth-style with tables that accommodate up to 4 people, and there are also 2-person seats.
The final leg of our journey today will be to Alamosa, Colorado, with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Great Sand Dunes National Park. The dunes within the park's borders have been building and shifting for eons. A sandbox of epic proportions, the entire dune field encompasses 30 square miles, and the tallest dune towers 750 feet high. This is a beautiful area to enjoy as the sun sets. Upon arrival in Alamosa, you will have the evening free to relax and reflect on your day.
