Check your Travel Identification Documents to make sure you know where they are and that they have not expired and will not expire while traveling.
- Valid passports should not be torn or damaged and you should have at least 2 to 3 blank pages for each destination you will be visiting.
- Expiration date should be no less than 6 months from your RETURN travel date.
- Check the spelling of your name and personal information on your travel documents.
- First and last names should match EXACTLY as they appear on your passport.
- REAL ID requirements go into effect May 7, 2025.
You can check the requirements for the countries you plan to visit at the Department of State’s website. There have been instances where travelers were prevented from boarding flights and cruises because their passports or travel identification documents expired too close to their travel date. Again, please double check that the name(s) listed on your travel documents is correct. You can be turned away at airport or cruise port security if there is a discrepancy. ALL passengers, infants, children & adults, must have a valid passport book when traveling internationally. Passport processing times vary. Please be proactive to ensure delivery in advance of your departure. You can find details on how to renew your passport here or call your county clerk to make an appointment. Be sure to ask what is needed to complete the process and the appropriate fees.
