We'll be reaching out 45 days before travel to collect your flight details and to encourage you to book your ground transfers. However, if you would like to book a transfer as soon as you have your flights booked, we suggest booking with Lomas Travels and VM Travel Services. Both companies are companies that we personally use in Cancun.
If you have a group of 8 and want to get a transfer together, book VM. If you try to book 8 people with Lomas, they'll require you to upgrade the size of vehicle.
If you have not been to Cancun in awhile or you're not a frequent traveler, book Lomas. They're easier to find at the airport in the chaos of taxi drivers/transfer companies because they all wear a bright teal, distinctive shirt and white pants.
If you just want the lowest cost private option for 7 or less people, book Lomas.
If you don't mind stopping at other resorts between the airport and resort, you can book a shared transfer to save money... but know that it may add hours to your transfer. The first time we were in Mexico, we took a shared shuttle to our resort that was 30 minutes from the airport and it took FOUR HOURS to get there. We said "never again"!
Lastly, our top tip is to only book transfers with other passengers on your same exact flight. Cancun has three terminals that wedding guests might be flying into and out of and none of those terminals share the same pick up/drop off points. You will not be able to find your friends on arrival if they arrive into a different terminal and this can cause confusion.
