Some of the best moments on this voyage won't happen in port.
A day at sea on Valiant Lady is not a day of waiting. It's a day of choosing. Sleep in and let the ocean wake you slowly. Order breakfast from Ship Eats and take it out to your terrace with a blanket and a view of the Atlantic in full fall light. Or don't. The ship has other ideas for you if you want them.
Work up a sweat on The Runway, Virgin's red-rimmed jogging track that hovers above the ocean like a halo over the ship. Take a yoga class at The Perch. Hit the Athletic Club. Then undo all of it with a few hours in Redemption Spa, where the Thermal Suite offers a mud room, salt room, sauna, steam room, and hot and cold plunge pools. Book a massage. Get the seaweed wrap. You're on vacation.
When you're ready to surface, over 20 dining venues are open and calling your name. Sit down for a proper Korean barbecue lunch at Gunbae. Grab tapas and a cocktail at one of the bars. Wander. Explore the parts of the ship you haven't found yet.
As the afternoon light shifts and the Atlantic stretches out in every direction, find your hammock on the terrace and stay there longer than you planned. That's not wasted time. That's exactly the point.
Tonight, the ship comes alive. Catch a show at the Red Room, dance at The Manor, or sip champagne at Sip while the coastline of New England or Canada drifts somewhere in the dark behind you.
A day at sea is the ship at its best. Let it do its job.
