Walk the same streets as the Apostle Paul in one of early Christianity’s most important cities. Thessaloniki was a pivotal stop on Paul’s second missionary journey, where he preached in the synagogue and established one of the earliest Christian communities in Europe — a community he later addressed in two of his most celebrated epistles. This half-day tour takes you through the living layers of Christian history embedded in the heart of the city.
Your tour includes a visit to the Arch of Galerius and the Rotunda, the latter being one of the oldest Christian churches in the world, where early frescoes of saints still adorn the walls. You will visit the Acheiropoietos Basilica, one of the best-preserved early Christian basilicas in existence, dating to the 5th century. The tour continues to the Church of Saint Demetrius, the city’s patron saint and a place of deep spiritual significance, before concluding at the site traditionally associated with the ancient synagogue where Paul first delivered his message to the Thessalonians.
