Hi! I’m Bonnie Carol Mallett--though most people know me as Carol (because I was named after my mom). I’ve had the joy of owning Amazing Outlooks Travel Agency in Houston since 2017. Bonnie Dean Cruises represents a dream I’ve carried for years, now made possible alongside two amazing travel partners here in Houston: Valeria Vick, owner of Val Vick Luxury Travel and Shenita Outland, owner of Luxe World Travels.
I’m thrilled you’re interested in joining us for our very first sailing—Bonnie Dean Cruises: The Paris Edition, 2027.
My mother Bonnie Fay Dean was named after the song “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean,” a fitting beginning for the daughter of a merchant marine. She grew up on stories of ships and faraway places, carrying a quiet dream of someday taking a cruise—one that life never allowed her to fulfill.
For many years, her life was marked by domestic violence and abuse, yet she transformed that hardship into purpose. She became a survivor, an advocate, and ultimately a source of encouragement for women facing similar challenges. In her later years, she founded and led a ministry and support group for battered women, offering compassion, strength, and community.
She was cremated, leaving no stone to bear her name. So instead, her name will travel—across oceans, rivers, and winding waterways. Bonnie Dean Cruises honors her unfulfilled dream of cruising and her lifelong dedication to supporting women.
Through biannual cruises designed for women, we create joyful spaces for connection, laughter, and celebration—while donating proceeds to organizations that uplift and support women in need.
