The baths are built of natural stone from the canyon and water is supplied to them from local hot springs. A lot of effort is put into making them blend in with nature as well as possible, as the pools are built in the spirit of the ancient Snorralaug pool from the 10th century. The bathhouse is built of timber that has fallen in the area. Even the hooks in the changing rooms are made from used horseshoes from a nearby farm.
