Small Group Journey June 11-26, 2027
Hosted by Lisa Tired of the crowds in Europe? Join Eze2Travel in partnership with Blue Silk Travel as we visit the "Land of the Eternal Blue Sky," the most sparsely populated country on Earth. Mongolia is known for its vast, untouched landscapes, rich nomadic hospitality, and history as the seat of the Mongol Empire.
Over 16 days we'll the follow in the footsteps of Genghis Khan, the 13th century warlord who established the largest continuous land empire in human history. We'll visit monasteries and ruined cities of the old Silk Road. Search for bones in the canyons of the Gobi Desert, one of the world's most significant dinosaur fossil reserves. Listen for the cries of snow leopards under skies with more stars than we can count. Ride two-humped Bactrian camels across the Singing Sands. Paddle through the waters of the pristine Lake Huvsgul. And listen to the otherworldly songs of the famous throat singers.
One third of Mongolians live as semi-nomadic herders, moving livestock across the open steppes. We'll join families in authentic cultural exchanges, sharing meals and learning about a way of life that has remained unchanged for a thousand years.
At night we'll lay our heads in traditional gers, portable felt tents used by nomads for centuries as they travel across the steppe. We'll have chances to ride horses with local families, but our main form of transport will be private SUVs that can travel with easy across unpaved roads.
