Your next stop is Kilmainham Gaol, one of the most important and emotionally powerful historic sites in Ireland.
Once a working prison from 1796 to 1924, it now stands as a museum that tells the story of Ireland’s long and often difficult fight for independence. Many of the country’s most influential revolutionaries were held within these walls, leaders from the uprisings of 1798, 1803, 1848, 1867, and the pivotal 1916 Easter Rising, several of whom were executed in the stone yard just steps from their cells.
During the Anglo‑Irish War, countless members of the Irish Republican movement were also imprisoned here under British rule. Walking through its echoing corridors and stark cells, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the sacrifices, struggles, and human stories that shaped modern Ireland, making this visit both moving and unforgettable.
After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel to relax and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
