Private Day Trip to Langjökull Glacier
After breakfast at our hotel, we’ll be picked up from our hotel by a private driver-guide and head into the Icelandic countryside, passing through the serene fjord of Hvalfjörður on our way to Húsafell, a picturesque outpost on the edge of Iceland’s highlands.
Along the way, we’ll stop at Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring, where hot water emerges from the ground at 97°C.
Lunch in Húsafell
We’ll pause for a casual, scenic lunch at Húsafell Bistro, tucked into a quiet valley surrounded by forests, lava fields, and snow-capped peaks.
Langjökull Glacier Ice Cave Experience
After lunch, it’s time for the main event — a journey inside one of Europe’s largest glaciers. We’ll join a small-group expedition to explore the man-made ice tunnels of Langjökull, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that reveals the glowing blue heart of the glacier itself.
Walking through these ice corridors — carved high atop the glacier in one of the most remote areas of Iceland — feels like stepping into a dream. Shades of crystalline blue, shimmering walls, and the echoing silence of the ice create a magical, almost meditative atmosphere.
This is not just a visit — it’s an immersion into Iceland’s natural extremes and a rare chance to witness the raw power and beauty of glacial life from the inside out.
We’ll return to Reykjavik in the early evening, with time to rest, reflect, and perhaps enjoy a cozy night in or out on your own.
