Wave Expeditions: Shared Combo – Rafting Balsa River & Sloths tour with lunch
Your day begins with a comfortable hotel pick-up in La Fortuna. Then, you’ll head to a small, family-run eco-reserve that offers ideal conditions to observe sloths in their natural environment. During a relaxed 1.5-hour guided walk, you’ll learn about their slow lifestyle, their natural predators, and the conservation work protecting them. Because the local guides know the terrain so well, your chances of seeing both two- and three-toed sloths are excellent. In addition to sloths, you may also spot frogs, birds, and other rainforest creatures.
After your walk, take a moment to relax and enjoy a light local snack. This short break gives you energy before heading out to the river.
Next, it’s time to shift gears. After a safety talk, gear up for two hours of white-water rafting on Class II–III rapids. Along the way, your guide will lead you through exciting drops and rolling waves. Between rapids, you’ll enjoy calmer stretches, perfect for soaking in the surrounding jungle. You might even spot monkeys or toucans from your raft.
At the end of your rafting journey, enjoy a freshly prepared Costa Rican lunch at a private countryside restaurant. Finally, relax during the return trip to your hotel in La Fortuna.
