One of Nassau's most photographed landmarks, the Queen's Staircase is a 66-step passage carved entirely out of limestone by enslaved workers in the late 1700s. It leads straight up to Fort Fincastle, a small hilltop fortification shaped like a paddle-wheel steamboat. From the top you get a wide view over Nassau Harbour and the surrounding islands. The whole visit takes about 45 minutes and it's walkable from the cruise pier — a great stop between the beach and Bay Street.
