Scenic Cruising Day – Hubbard Glacier
This day is dedicated to scenic cruising at Hubbard Glacier. While it’s not a traditional “excursion” day, there is one limited-capacity excursion available.
The cruise ship will navigate as close as possible—typically within ¼ to ½ mile of the glacier. Despite the distance, the glacier’s immense size (350 feet above the waterline and 7 miles wide) ensures an unforgettable view. You’ll not only see it clearly but may also hear the powerful sound of calving as chunks of ice break off and crash into the sea.
For those seeking an even closer and more immersive experience, the small boat excursion brings you to water level, directly in front of the glacier. Space for this tour is extremely limited, so early registration is strongly advised.
Since you are also participating in the land portion in addition to the cruise, I highly recommend the 12-hour Prince William Sound tour from the Copper River Wilderness Lodge. This excursion provides access to multiple glaciers, offers a wider variety of experiences, and comes at a significantly lower cost for more than five times the time spent on this 2-hour tour.
Important Tip: If you're uncertain about joining a tour, it's best to reserve your spot early. You can always cancel for a full refund within the allowed cancellation period—better to hold a spot and decide later than miss out entirely.
